Jersey selects UltraCUSE
Ultra Electronics Airport Systems (Ultra) is pleased to announce the award of the contract to supply the Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) platform at Jersey Airport (JER).
Jersey Airport is looking to the CUTE platform to improve utilisation of valuable airport infrastructure, increase operational flexibility of check-in and gate positions and to address summer peak capacity challenges. All the carriers at Jersey Airport will use the platform to access their operational systems when checking in and boarding departing passengers.
The CUTE platform will assist Jersey Airport in accommodating the changing passenger processes, ease in the introduction of new carriers and ensure consistency in passenger service provision.
Ultra is a specialist niche airport systems provider and has an unrivalled combination of airport system knowledge, proven capability and a partnership approach to support Jersey Airport as its operations continue to evolve.
The contract was awarded following a tender responded to by the leading CUTE system providers and a detailed evaluation process involving the Jersey airlines and ground handling community to ensure the selected platform meet all their operational requirements.
The UltraCUSE platform is deployed in over 30 airports and offers exceptional operational performance, stability and cost effectiveness. UltraCUSE is continually enhanced by an Ultra-funded product development roadmap and is developed to meet ongoing International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards. Put simply, UltraCUSE is a proven platform which will continue to meet Jersey Airport’s airline community operational requirements.
An important innovation at Jersey Airport is the introduction of general purpose printers which will issue receipt type boarding passes using bar code technology in accordance with IATA’s ‘Simplifying the Business’ strategy. Jersey Airport will be the first airport in the British Isles where all airlines will use lower cost receipt paper boarding passes.
Julian Green, Airport Director, commented on Ultra’s selection. “Ultra will be a key partner in Jersey Airport’s strategic plans, enhancing the airports ability to address passenger service requirements in the future. We look forward to working closely with the Ultra team.”
Ultra is looking forward to working closely with Jersey Airport and the airline and ground handling community.
