Overview
UltraAPIS is a standalone solution designed to capture passenger passport and other ID documentation data, ideally used in conjunction with an external OCR device. It works independently of any automated check-in system, electronically collecting and transmitting the data to the required authority. It is particularly useful where a carrier is required to comply with APIS data transmission, but where use of a full DCS is not cost effective. UltraAPIS controls and validates the input of data ensuring only compliant data is recorded for each passenger. Pop-up warning boxes will appear if information
is missing, incorrect or invalid.
Once flights are defined in the system, a standard IATA PNL (Passenger Name List) can optionally be downloaded. The system can also operate without a name list if no download is available. An agent selects each passenger's name and then swipes their document or types in the details. Once a flight is closed UltraAPIS compiles the APIS message in the correct EDI format ready for transmission. The message cannot be transmitted until complete and compliant data is stored for all checked-in passengers. Air Transat specialises in charter flights from several Canadian and European cities to vacation destinations. It serves 90 destinations in 25 countries. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Transat A.T. Inc., an integrated company specialising in organising, marketing, and distributing vacation travel and packages. The organisation comprises tour operators based in Canada and France. Ultra has provided AirTransat with UltraSEATS for DCS at Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, and UltraAPIS at many outstations.
"AirTransat's use of the UltraAPIS and UltraSEATS product offerings has been instrumental in enabling us to reduce costs and improve our customer service."
