Overview
UltraFIDS provides comprehensive facilities for the display of flight related information on a variety of public and staff display devices.
UltraFIDS is more than just an easy to use Flight Information Display System. It supports the display of flight, gate, baggage and retail information as well as visual paging. The pages can be displayed in split screen fashion or in rotation.
All display technologies are supported including LCD, TFT, Plasma, LED, Monitors and split flap displays.
The user has the ability to choose what is displayed, when and where; taking advantage of UltraFIDS' multimedia design capabilities.
UltraFIDS draws information directly from its database. Real-time updates are sent to displays as they are made in the database. As displays do not constantly request a refresh, UltraFIDS requires very little network bandwidth.
UltraFIDS is effective in simultaneously providing staff with accurate flight and operational information. It can be operated as a dedicated staff screen, offering page selection via a keypad or touchscreen, or as a thin-client program on a back-office Windows desktop.
UltraFIDS can be delivered with our other airport operational, passenger processing and ground handling systems as part of Ultra's integrated airport solution.
Unique Zurich Airport handled 19.2 million passengers in 2006. Central to the efficient operation at Zurich is the AIMS+ system. This 3rd generation of UltraFIDS and UltraDB at Zurich marks more than 20 years of providing IT systems integration and flight information display to public and staff at Zurich Airport. Ultra's integrated solution system interfaces with 23 external systems, has more than 120 operational users and drives in excess of 1000 FIDS displays. It is currently being extended to handle tracking of ground movements and general aviation flights.
