Professional Services

The preferred choice for airport and airline projects

Airlines and airports today are facing a challenge: to produce a satisfying customer experience for minimum cost.  For airports, this requires an infrastructure that can support many airlines; and for airlines, the infrastructure must be compatible with the many airports to which you fly.  And all this must be achieved while ensuring that all industry and local governmental guidelines are met.

Introducing Ultra Professional Services: the preferred choice for airport and airline projects.

Ultra’s experienced team of consultants can apply their many years of expert assistance in the airline industry to a variety of projects, from stand-alone solutions to large Master Systems Integration programmes.  And not just for our own products!

Rather than go through the same learning curve encountered by many airport service, operations and IT directors across the industry, the Professional Services team can use their decades of aviation know-how to help reduce costs, timescales and risk.  We use our expert knowledge and best practise experience to assist with projects and programmes of any size. Let us solve your problems!

Master Systems Integration

Ultra have had experience of a number of projects acting as Master Systems Integrators for both our own products and others.  Ultra have considerable project and programme management expertise, and our project managers all follow the Prince2 Project Management framework.  Our large technical team can assess problems and propose solutions as they arise.  All this helps ensure that your integration and deployment projects come in on time and under budget.

Let our customers speak for us:

“Our experience with Ultra has been second to none. Ultra Electronics’ team, experience, technology, integration and solutions have proven to be at the top of the industry” [Mark Posner, RDU]

“Ultra Electronics has progressed from an excellent supplier of airport products to become an Airport Systems Integrator and the provider of an overall integrated IT solution” [Zhang Hai Ying, SHA]

Training

Ultra’s experienced training team already provides comprehensive, professional training on all of Ultra’s products.  Training can be provided on many levels; basic training courses can be provided either directly to operational staff or on a “train the trainer” basis, and detailed administration courses can be provided for supervisors and support staff.

In addition, Ultra can produce custom courses as required on a variety of systems and processes; from training first line support staff for break-fix, troubleshooting and integration support, to high level process and standards training for managers and non-operational staff.

Process Audit and Review

Ultra have spent many years working with airlines and airports all over the world, and have amassed a wealth of experience of both airside and landside airport operations.  Ultra can apply this expert knowledge of industry processes and standards to ‘health-check’ your systems and processes.  We will analyse your audit results with you and then make recommendations based on both global best practise and also local considerations, such as security procedures, working guidelines and physical constraints.

Acceptance Testing

Ultra’s team have a wealth of experience in testing our own products ready for deployment into an airport environment, especially when it comes to integration between systems.  Our role as integrators for many projects has also involved a significant test element.  We can use this experience to either assist you in creating suitable test specifications for your deployment projects, or we can provide an onsite presence to help perform the testing and assess the impact of test failures on your operation.

Requirements Analysis Preparation

Ultra has found through many years of responding to tender and requirements documents that quality can be variable, and poorly specified requirements documents can only result in increases in issues, costs and risk as the deployment progresses.  We can use our experience to assist you in creating comprehensive, unambiguous and concise tender and requirements documents.

Ultra can also provide experienced resources to enable you to assess tender responses and help select vendors.

IT Service Management

Ultra’s business isn’t just about products and deployments; the ongoing support and maintenance of systems is of paramount importance to the aviation industry, and even the smallest outage can have significant impact in revenues and customer satisfaction.

Ultra can provide tools, training and consultancy to help you provide a 21st century IT Service Management offering which complements Ultra’s own ISO-20000 accredited service offering. Why re-invent the wheel when we have already done the hard work?
