BSI SCADA Commissioning Engineer x 5 – c 5 month contract

Location:      Based at London Heathrow

JOB TITLE:  BSI SCADA Commissioning Engineer x 5 – c 5 month contract

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the BSI Commissioning Manager/ Site Supervisors, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi disciplined team and be responsible for conducting the commissioning activities related to proving a SCADA integrated solution for the control and monitoring system of what is currently the largest construction project in the UK.  The jobholder will provide SCADA commissioning support as part of the on-site commissioning team and interface with other teams working on site as part of the systems testing. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct SCADA head end testing providing documentary evidence FAT and SAT documentation through to live plant equipment.
  • Interfacing with other third party delivery teams at a site level during commissioning and site acceptance testing activities.
  • Production of daily shift reports.
  • Working within the remit of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Test Specifications.
  • Produce Technical Project Documentation (FAT and SAT documentation).
  • Demonstrate commitment to working with other teams in progressing programme.
  • Reporting and documenting on-site configuration changes and application issues.
  • Providing as-built information from site.
  • Lead a small team of commissioning engineers.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Qualification minimum requirements are HNC/HND in electrical or software engineering
  • A working knowledge of health and safety and first aid.
  • Knowledge of Process Control Techniques and ability to Understand P&ID Diagrams is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of SCADA systems (ICONICS preferred).
  • Ability to be self-motivated and able to work on own or as part of a team on site.
  • Knowledge of OPC standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other project teams and management.
  • Experience of working on site construction projects
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
